8.10.09 Our Pseudo Anniversary

So our anniversary was the 3rd, but we were too busy getting ready to go on this trip, so we agreed to celebrate it today instead. We woke up early and planned a short visit to Hong Kong and Macau, and our Thailand trip.

We went to Taipei 101 for lunch. The restaurant was called Panorama, and was on the85th floor. The view was great and it was awesome to be that high up in the sky in what was once (quite recently) the tallest building in the world.

We took a slow train to Hua Lien afterwards because the faster ones were sold out. We checked into the Formosa Backpackers Hostel and walked around the city for a bit. We made it to the ocean side, but the beach was closed because of the typhoon rains. We had some street food which was super cheap (30 cents for 2 meat and vegetable buns - 6 of which would be a full meal) and really good and called it a night.

  1. That is a very cool place to celebrate your anniversary. I think Dad and I should go there for dinner on our 41st anniversary. We are going to Kauai on our 40th to renew our vows. Love, Mom and Dad
